In this quiet room integrating uplight into the top of the bookcases is an effective way to reduce visible fixtures while providing ambient light. The dark tones of the paint and furnishings in this room require the fluorescents to be a warm color temperature. The addition of a task lamp on the desk provides reading light. Edge lighting the transom with amber LEDs creates a warm glow, while drawing you into this refuge from the rest of the home’s activity.
