In 2021, the Lighting Research Center transitioned several of its research programs and staff to a new institution. Going forward, the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute continues to pursue the highest level of lighting technology and applications research and education in select concentration areas, specifically: LED lighting; 3D printing for lighting; aviation lighting; photometry and lab testing consultation; and industry education.

Led by Dr. N. Narendran, LRC Director of Research, these concentration areas will remain at Rensselaer with the same staff who have been supporting this work for many years. We invite stakeholders and other interested parties to continue to work with us on this research in a sponsorship capacity.
