Abstract The total annual energy cost for exit signs in the U.S. using incandescent lamps is approximately $1 billion. Switching to ENERGY STAR-labeled LED exit signs will reduce energy and relamping costs, plus the pollution power plants produce. This Snapshot profiles exit sign installations in the U.S. Post Office in Eugene, Oregon, and at the Lighting Research Center in Watervliet, N.Y.
