Abstract
This issue of Specifier Reports presents information needed to select and specify parking lot luminaires. It identifies the critical performance issues for parking lot luminaires and the information that a specifier should request from a manufacturer when evaluating different products. It also summarizes the results of application analyses conducted by NLPIP. This report focuses on a class of luminiaires best described as pole-mounted parking lot or area luminaires. Wall- and ceiling-mounted luminaires used for covered parking facilities are not discussed. Wall-mounted flood type luminaires are also excluded. In addition, this report does not discuss lighting systems with luminaires mounted at heights of 60 feet (18.3 meters) or higher because those systems have unique application criteria.
