Tourist Information

Troy is part of New York's progressive Tech Valley region, where rural charm, urban excitement, and cutting-edge science attract visitors year-round in pursuit of the best in outdoor recreation, arts and entertainment, and world-class research and education facilities.

Below is a list of museums and other attractions that may be of interest to LS13 attendees and Accompanying Persons. If you are interested in visiting any of these attractions, please e-mail Vic Roberts at LS13@robertsresearchinc.com. If there is enough interest, the LS13 Committee may organize a bus or provide a guide for an outing.

Outdoor attractions, such as the Storm King Sculpture Gardens, are weather dependent, and can be replaced with an indoor venue such as the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum at Hyde Park, in the event of rain.

Attractions in Troy, Albany, Schenectady and Saratoga Springs can be reached by public bus, but Schenectady and Saratoga Springs involve multiple busses and long trips. New York City and other locations in the Hudson River Valley can be reached by a combination of bus, train (Amtrak) and local taxi. All other attractions will require a car or taxi. All distances are measured from the LS13 venue, the RPI Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) using Google Maps.
