Applications of novel lighting systems
Abstracts for this area would focus on unique applications of lighting systems with emphasis on intelligent and adaptive control systems, non-human (plant, animal, bacterial) applications, novel approaches to traditional problems in illuminating engineering.

Metrics for assessing the benefits of lighting systems
Abstracts for this area would focus on new measures of discomfort glare, color rendering, brightness and circadian effectiveness of light sources. Standardization and legalization of metrics will also be of interest.
