Existing Courses:

Terminology The "language of lighting," a course offering in-depth explanations of the most frequently used terms and concepts in the field of lighting. This course can be accessed free-of-charge for a limited time as a preview of the Lighting Education Online program. It is suggested that new participants complete this course before beginning any of the other Lighting Education Online courses.

Technology This section is for registered users of Lighting Education Online. Please visit the LRC Online Store if you have not yet registered for this course. The technology course provides a comprehensive overview of lamps, advanced light sources, ballasts, luminaires, lighting controls, and other technologies used in the lighting industry.

Residential Lighting - This section is for registered users of Lighting Education Online. Please visit the LRC Online Store if you have not yet registered for this course. The residential lighting course provides information on lighting technologies typically used in homes along with guidance on lighting design techniques. The course also provides sample lighting layouts for a variety of rooms within a home.

Coming Soon:

Applications - This course will review important considerations and provides guidelines for the application of lighting technologies and systems to a variety of commercial building types. The first building types that will be included in the course are offices, education facilities, and healthcare facilities.

Lighting Design - This course will provide education on the process of lighting design development including consideration of the "human factors" of lighting (how to design lighting installations that will meet the needs of the people who will use them), lighting economics, issues of lighting quality, as well as aesthetics and architectural integration.
