Graduate education
Financial aid
The LRC wants to make a graduate education in lighting possible to the best and the brightest students, so we make scholarships and other forms of financial assistance available to our most qualified applicants each year. Eighty percent of LRC students receive some form of financial aid. Please email our manager of education, Dan Frering, for details.
Scholarships and research assistantships are available for students pursuing the Master of Science in Lighting and the Ph.D. in Architectural Sciences with a Concentration in Lighting. Financial aid is awarded based on merit taking into account all materials and information received as part of each student's application packet. In order to be considered for financial aid all application materials must be received by March 1st of each year, for entrance in that following fall semester.
One of the scholarships awarded for graduate study in lighting at the Lighting Research Center (LRC) is generously supported by a grant from Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. The Lutron scholarship is awarded each year to a student researching lighting technologies or lighting controls who demonstrates outstanding academic performance and strong leadership abilities. Lutron, headquartered in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, is the world's leading designer and manufacturer of lighting controls, architectural lighting control systems and shading solutions for residential, commercial and institutional applications.
