Manager, Energy Programs
(full-time)
The incumbent will manage the Lighting Research Center's (LRC) efforts in electric utility issues, policies and technology applications. He or she shall participate and/or manage LRC projects in lighting for demand response, customer satisfaction and energy conservation. The Manager of Energy shall work with a multi-disciplinary staff to seek funding, execute projects, and disseminate research results related to energy and sustainability. This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Energy Policy or related field. Masters degree in Energy or Environmental Policy or a minimum of five years experience in managing electric utility conservation programs, policies and customer relations.
Technical Manager

The Technical Manager is a technical staff position within the LRC reporting to the Director of Research (Associate Director). This position is responsible for interdisciplinary team selection and management in the design, development and testing process of new lighting systems including fixtures, lighting controls and instrumentation developed within the LRC. It is also responsible for selecting and managing a team of LRC personnel to assess emerging lighting technologies developed by others, to report the results of the assessment and recommend improvements to the technology. This individual will develop proposals and seek funding for the development, demonstration and evaluation of new lighting technologies being discovered at the LRC. It will also work with manufacturers to commercialize lighting technologies developed within the LRC. This position requires a Bachelors Degree in a related engineering field (MS preferred) with a minimum of seven years of product design experience.
Research Specialist

The Research Specialist is responsible for planning and conducting research projects that support the LRC's mission. This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Experimental Psychology, or Cognitive Sciences. Three years of post degree research experience in industry is preferred. A Masters Degree with one-year post degree research experience is acceptable.
Senior Research Scientist
(full-time)
The Senior Research Scientist initiates and leads research projects related to the effects of lighting on people. In particular, he or she will lead research in the human factors program at the Lighting Research Center, including proposal generation, mentoring staff and students, and participate in human factors program. Requires Masters in engineering, experimental psychology, cognitive sciences or related field. Ph.D. and formal lighting education are preferred. Minimum of three (3) years experience in leading R&D projects is required. Lighting R&D background desired.
